Remove GetSwim pop-up ads

Hi guys, I don’t know if the one that struck my computer is a virus. GetSwim attaches itself into my browsers and I am not sure how to remove it. There are plug-ins on my settings but I am not certain if it has something to do with GetSwim virus.

Aside from ads, my browser settings have changed dramatically, home page has changed a lot. New tabs of Chrome and Firefox starts to various ads. Also, some words or phrases on the web page are highlighted in blue and was converted into a link-ad. There is this little window also pop-ups once in a while that contain various ads.

To remove GetSwim and other malware from the computer, I run spybot and mcafee scans. Both programs identified a number of malicious items and as suggested, I removed all of them. However, that has clean some files but GetSwim still remains on the computer as if it remains untouched by previous scan.

The threat may have an effect on my Internet connection. It seems to slow-down tremendously after being infected with GetSwim virus. Please help me remove this thing and clean the computer for real.

Thanks in advance.
