My computer seems to be slowing down after I have acquired an adware last night. This morning, when I tried to browse the web, the home page keeps on redirecting to The same address is shown each time I use Google to search the web.

I have modified the settings of my browser to revert the home page back to previous settings but the virus keeps on redirecting it to Removing the adware, which is FLV player doesn’t help in getting rid of the virus. In fact, the search now keeps on redirecting to various URL aside from the mentioned.

Please tell me how I can remove this virus permanently on my computer. My antivirus program is useless in dealing with this threat.

    This a general removal guide to stop any browser hijacker or search redirect adware. If this will not work, I suggest that you reset the affected browser to default.

    1. Open Windows Control Panel.
    2. Choose Programs (Uninstall a Program).
    3. It will open a list of installed programs, find or any related term and click on ‘Uninstall’.

    Remove in Internet Explorer:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Go to Tools > Options.
    3. On General tab, proceed to ”Change search defaults” and click the “Settings” button.
    4. You will see a list of search providers. Select your desired search provider and click the button “Set as default” to replace
    5. You may now remove from the list.

    Remove in Mozilla Firefox:
    1. Open Mozilla Firefox Internet Browser.
    2. On Google’s Search box, click the “arrow down” beside the logo.
    3. Select “Manage Search Engine” from the drop-down list.
    4. Choose your desired search default (like Google) and click the button “Move up.” It should be on the top of the list to set it as default.
    5. You can now remove other installed search engine.

    Remove in Google Chrome:
    1. Open Google Chrome.
    2. Click on the Wrench icon on top right corner of the browser.
    3. Choose “Settings” from the drop down list.
    4. Select “Basics.”
    5. Click on “Manage search engines” under SEARCH settings area.
    6. Hover your mouse to a preferred search engine and click “Make default.”
    7. You can now remove by clicking on the X mark.
