My Vodafone 3G connection kept on dropping. I discovered and deleted the z-connect connection and renamed my original VMCLite 3G connection to z-connect. This seems to be working perfectly!!!

Colleagues, the ultimate solution to this problem is to do a thorough clean up on your machine. i mean a format. however, as Z connect kicks off your connection you can also kick it off by connecting through it. Here is how you connect through it
1. Go to your web browser, say Internet Explorer
2. Select Tools and scroll down to Internet Options
3.On the Internet Options dialog box, select the Connections tab
4.Under Dial Up And Virtual Network Private Settings, you will see a list of different connections including z-connect.
5. Double click on Z-connect, put in your username and password, plus the domain if you have the details from your ISP
6.Click on Properties and look for the phone number, put in the access number that you were given by your ISP then OK.
7.Close everything and go to Network connections
8.Double click on Z connect and enter the Phone dial up number then dial to the internet
At this point, you will be able to connect to the internet and browse normally. however, this will not wipe away the virus.

Thanks ghasim it worked I was at that point on buying a new Laptop it is really frustrating I hope the z-connect people get a cramp were it hurt that they must be formated thanks a mill !!!!!!!!!!!!

My Solution
Remove files used by the z-connect (executables with funny names) and the connection from internet options.
Run Local Security Settings (secpol.msc),
Enable the Disallow option
Connect to the net using yo usual connection and browse.
Remember to do the reverse for you to run other programs

Z-CONNECT is too bad, but thank God i send it away. very simple idea, all what you need is to remove your moder board battery for some hours and contiue browsing, after some hours return the battery back, and say bye bye to Z-CONNECT. BAD VIRUS IS BEEN SENT TO MY SYSTEM BY MY FRIENDS…………………………..

Yeah the Z connection has been giving me a lot of hell on my laptop. I have decided to create a network connection called Z_connect and it seems to be working well now for me.
The only qustion is how can I get rid of the Z- connect VIRUS

z connect ‘virus’ is asociated wit the dreaded recycler. is it not obvious. but it plasgued me. i think i mover come it by using google search and do what they say to do. the very fact i could post this comment means that i have won this battle but the war is not over…………………………

Deleted the z-connect connection, added a new Cnxtn called z-connect, entered ISP details, now i am browsing.
My fear is that as a spyware may still see into my laptop, so no more business on this laptop until I get a true removal tool. Any ideas?

It seems to evolve from Z Connect to X connect. Ensure that your antivirus is updated guys and run a scan.
on the c: drive the file has changed to update. when you move the mouse over it, you would see the owner or the company of the file is Qu6Gp4D2

How to remove Z-Connect Virus
bad virus, I tried to delete it, but it appears in some second after I delete it. I noticed some weird files appearing in C/Documents and Settings/My User like “ddaqaeu6” and when I delete it, another weird named file appears. And if I dont delete, there can be 5-6 files or more there. Are these files the reason of z-connect virus? Or plz help me at getting rid of this. I can dial up my net without problem via this z connect. But sometimes in 15-20 mins, I can get disconnected. Nowadays my computer is really being attacked. I am so upset :( and need your helps
How to remove Z-Connect Virus
I used avira antivir to get z-connect of my pc. the file is locked but you get an option to delete it when restarting.
Here is what I did to remove
z-connect.
1. in windows explorer goto tools –> folder options.
2. at the folder options dialog box select the view tab.
3. select the show hidden files and folders radio button.
4. uncheck Hide protected operation system files (recommended).
5. click on apply to all folders.
6. click Yes.
7. restart and press F8 at POST.
8. at the advanced boot options menu, select safe mode.
9. once win xp is loaded in safemode, goto My Computer.
10. you will see folders named sin, plain, jan, deep.
11. you can delete them now as well as any file
with the name mix.exe, max.exe, maq.exe as well as
any file that resemble ANYTHING like the following,
4N7T23A.exe.
12. goto %systemroot%\prefetch and delete any file that
contain the names mentioned in 11.
13. restart and boot the win xp. remove z-connect
from network connections.

Just want to add that I also had similar folders named “Equity”, “Gravity” and “Mad” in the root of my C-drive.

it is impossible to wipe out the z-connect.

1 > start >right click > open > click on up click ( to go to C:\Documents and Settings\Vishal M Gajjar )> u will be able to see 72 kb file > right click on that > click on read only , rename that file , delete that z-connect connection > connect to ur regular connection >as u will connect u will get this file is processin error > send Error report , u will stay to internet nd able to surf…

KINYAMS TECH ONDO, NIGERIA was right I did what he sugest, and besides this I deleted the .exe that is puted in the administrator file, and after sometime the virus was vanished…thanks Kiyams thech ondo!!
