I had a similar problem with sweetpacks; I just couldn’t get rid of it. I found a combination of malwarebytes and regseeker (wonderful!) worked perfectly, and both are free downloads.

Change all your home pages and search options back, uninstall from the add/remove Programs and download and update Spybot S&D and run. That will clear it up.

I got rid of Sweetpacks virus after scanning the computer with AdwCleaner. Here is what I did.

    1. Download AdwCleaner. This is a free tool from by Xplode

    2. After downloading, double-click on the file to run.
    3. Click on the Search button to scan the computer for adware and other suspicious entries relevant to Sweetpacks.
    4. After the scan, the program will display identified threats using Notepad. Please close Notepad and go back to AdwCleare scanner.
    5. Click on Delete to remove all threats.
    6. You may now Uninstall the tool when not needed anymore.

There are new versions constantly released to make sure that it covers the removal for most recent adware and unwanted programs. So, you can just safely delete the current version once you have removed Sweetpacks.
