“24×7 Help” virus pop-up on screen

I have this “24×7 Help” emergency computer assistance that pop-ups on lower right hand corner of the screen. I have no idea where it came from and how it gets inside my computer. All I know is it is really installed because there is a taskbar icon present already. The first pop-up bears the message:

24×7 Help
Emergency computer assistance
Our Microsoft trained technicians are standing by ready to help you resolve all your PC issues and more…”

On the second pop-up of “24×7 Help” virus, it seems to be promoting some products. It states that Spyware Terminator 2012, PCRx, and Online Vault Backup were not installed.

I really don’t know how to remove this “24×7 Help” malware. It is not present on the add/remove program of Windows control panel. Running a scan of my AVG Free shows no sign of virus infection. Another scan in safe mode of Windows detects a couple of P.U.P. but its removal doesn’t resolve the problem with “24×7 Help”. It constantly pop-ups on my computer especially when PC is connected to the Internet. Please help me get rid of this virus.

This “24×7 Help” scam has been there since 2012. It is not actually a virus. The pop-up originates from a simple applet installed on the system. Obviously, virus, trojan, or adware are the main source of this little program. Some calls it an advertising technique, in which you are given a chance to remove it. In the case of “24×7 Help – emergency computer assistance,” I can say that it has not difference to previous online fraud where an alert will pop-up specifying some troubles on the computer. The catch is, it will advise to purchase a removal tool or let you call a technical support that provides assistance expensively.

You can remove the applet using programs like HijackThis, Malwarebytes, SuperAntispyware, AdwCleaner and so on. Even your antivirus program may get rid of this code.
