search.easylifeapp.com redirect virus

Hi. I really don’t know what kind of virus is affecting my computer. I just hope someone in this forum knows how to stop redirecting my Internet browser to search.easylifeapp.com. My problem starts after I open an email attachment sent by my friend. Since then, I observed that every time I searched the web, the result will bring me to http://search.easylifeapp.com/…, the URL is followed by the search term, which I input in the search box of Google.

I am looking for a way to remove this redirect virus without having to buy any programs or removal tools. Don’t advise me to reinstall Firefox and Internet Explorer (both affected) because I have done that and it didn’t solve the issue.

Here is a typical procedure to remove unwanted add-ons/plug-ins from Internet browsers. If you cannot find the term to remove, might as well look for any suspicious items.

    Uninstall EasyLife App
    1. Open Windows Control Panel.
    2. Choose Programs (Uninstall a Program).
    3. It will open a list of installed programs, find EasyLife App or any related term and click on ‘Uninstall’.

    Remove search.easylifeapp.com in Internet Explorer:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Go to Tools > Options.
    3. On General tab, proceed to ”Change search defaults” and click the “Settings” button.
    4. You will see a list of search providers. Select your desired search provider and click the button “Set as default” to replace search.easylifeapp.com.
    5. You may now remove search.easylifeapp.com from the list.

    Remove search.easylifeapp.com in Mozilla Firefox:
    1. Open Mozilla Firefox Internet Browser.
    2. On Google’s Search box, click the “arrow down” beside the logo.
    3. Select “Manage Search Engine” from the drop-down list.
    4. Choose your desired search default (like Google) and click the button “Move up.” It should be on the top of the list to set it as default.
    5. You can now remove other installed search engine.

    Remove search.easylifeapp.com in Google Chrome:
    1. Open Google Chrome.
    2. Click on the Wrench or Horizontal Bars icon on top right corner of the browser.
    3. Choose “Settings” from the drop down list.
    4. Select “Basics.”
    5. Click on “Manage search engines” under SEARCH settings area.
    6. Hover your mouse to a preferred search engine and click “Make default.”
    7. You can now remove search.easylifeapp.com by clicking on the X mark.

Do this all without the pc connected to the internet and in safe mode, as the program is uninstalled in more than one location in the pc and re-installs itself if you don’t remove them all, my general advise with these type of programs is to delete all program you don’t know what it does, if your not very good with pc’s it’ be easier to simpley reformat the pc (re installs the operating system)

I have the same problem. But when I try to remove the program in the menu “manage search engines” then there is no option to remove it. All the other engines have the possibility except this one. Any ideas?

@Annelien, if you cannot remove search.easylifeapp.com from ‘Manage Search Engines’ of Google Chrome, better select another item to be your default search. Alternatively, you can ‘Add a new search engine’ to be your default.

I have the the EASIEST WAY TO REMOVE EASYLIFE APP FROM FIREFOX. First, go search everywhere in your computer and delete any files that have to do with easylife. (Type easy in the search bar.) Then go to firefox and type in “about:config” into the url section, and search easylife. Then reset everything that has to do with it. Then, your browser will be easylife-free. I just found out today. And also, download malware bytes to find “pup.offerware” and delete that too because it’s part of it. I hope this helps everyone who finds this.
