Remove Fast Save Chrome Extension

Hi, I am using Google Chrome to browse the Internet. Recently, I am quite annoyed with advertisements showing on every image I opened. It affects almost every web site so I am very certain that this is browser problem.
After searching the net, I found out that Google Chrome Fast Save Extension is the main culprit for this. Other names of this are Click2save extension and saveAS extension.

Going back to my problem, I cannot find these titles on Add/Remove program of Windows. Please tell me how to remove Fast Save extension. I am confident that after getting rid of this add-on, Chrome will run the same way again, without unwanted advertisements.

  • Most Chrome users may have acquired Fast Save without their consent. On some discussion boards, a number of ISOhunt member claims that using the site adds Fast Save extension to their Chrome without having to seek their approval.

Therefore, in order to remove the extension, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open Google Chrome.
    2. Click on the Wrench icon on top-right corner of the browser.
    3. It will show a drop-down list. Please choose ‘Settings’.
    4. On settings windows, select ‘Extension’ on the left panel of the browser.
    5. You will see Fast Save 1.1 in the list. To remove this, click on the ‘Trash’ icon. If it confirms for removal, please verify by clicking on ‘Remove’.
    6. Restart Google Chrome to confirm that Fast Save is gone.

Note: Fast Save is using other extensions. If it is not on the list, try disabling items such as Click2save and SaveAs extension.

  • thank you so much kent senior. fast save just appeared on my laptop a few days ago and i was most displeased, thanks again

  • Thanks for this has been annoying me for a few days now.

  • YES! THANK YOU! :-)

  • Brilliant answer to Removal of Fast Save. Don’t know how it got into Chrome but delighted it is now removed. Follow the above instructions and it works. Fast Save deleted.

  • RFance,
Fast Save 1.1 mostly came from a downloaded file like multimedia player. Others can acquire it by downloading files from isohunt web site. If ever it is bundled with another program, there is an option not to install Fast Save, QuickSave, or Click2Save. You just have to run a custom install and remove the mark on this tool.

  • A thousand thanks to you guys. An annoying extension and such a simple fix.
    Made my day!

  • THANK YOU KEN SENIOR!!

  • I believe that I received the fast save extension from going on the Hufington Post Chat board. I downloads a extension called Collusion graph. That shows all the cookies that are being sent to your computer in real time and anything that had to do with news The Hufington Post became my default for news. It stopped when I deleted fast save..

  • @KentSenior – Thank you! Worked like a charm.

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! :)

  • thank you, also for others, you can delete other extensions too unless you’re using them

  • fast save isn’t listed in my google extentions! furthermore i’ve done an anti-malware scan recently and nothing was picked up. Frustrating!

  • I have a problem: when I go to my extensions, fastsave, click2save, and saveAS aren’t there. Every time I go to youtube, the video I’m watching suddenly stops to play advertisement (though this is easily skipped), and when I go to do homework online, the fastsave icon is there, haunting me in the top right corner, and forcing a bunch of clickable options from the homework site to spam me (not pop up ads). Please, if anyone has a solution, you are my savior!

  • @ Robb I had the same problem where I couldn’t find the obvious names. So I turned off my extensions one at a time to see when those same youtube interrupting ads would stop. It turned out it was an extension called CodecV.2 or something like that. Since I threw this out I have no more fast save annoying ads or annoying pauses in youtube.

  • @Robb I had the same problem. I couldnt find an obvious name. I turned off all my extensions one at a time untill youtube stopped interrupting with those annoying ads. It turned out to be an extension called CodecV.2 or something similar. But since I removed it my youtube clips play straight through and I have no more fast save annoyances. Good luck finding the extension these guys are getting sneakier. And thanks Kent for helping get rid of this.

  • thank you so much i finally found it thank you

  • Thank you, that’s been annoying me for 6 months.

  • Thank you very much Kentsenior!

  • Most of the posts I’ve seen on this are maybe 6 months or a year or so old. Seems like this is coming back around. It wasn’t listed as it’s own extension. I found it glommed onto my Pinterest extension. I had to disable “Visual Deals” in the options. Odd thing is that I’ve had that extension for quite a while. Mac, running 10.7.5, Most recent update of Chrome.

  • BIG Thanks :)
