How to Stop Text Enhance

I am very much upset when Text Enhance keeps on showing on my browser. After reading some articles, I’ve learned that Text Enhance got into my computer when I downloaded multimedia program. Now that I have already removed relevant software, Text Enhance still keeps on appearing whenever I am browsing the Internet.

What is more annoying, Text Enhance advertisement will blow up in a large window when my mouse accidentally hovers on the link. Some says adblock will get rid of this adware. But in my case, Text Enhance seems to overpower whatever ads blocking software is installed. I guess this is not just a simple extension, rather a virus or some sort of malware.

Please tell me how to automatically stop Text Enhance from displaying on my browser.

Awaits for best solution.
Ricky

Text Enhance will appear if the extension or add-on is integrated into the browser. So, in order to stop Text Enhance from displaying, you need to remove the add-ons. Please follow this procedure.

How to Disable Text Enhance on Internet Explorer
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. On top menu, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons.
    3. On right panel look for Text Enhance/I Want This (or any suspicious add-on) entry and click on Disable button to stop the service.
    4. You may now restart Internet Explorer.

How to Uninstall Text Enhance in Google Chrome
    1. Open Google Chrome Internet browser.
    2. Click on Wrench icon or ‘Customize and Control Google Chrome’ button located on top right corner of the browser.
    3. Click on Tools > Extensions from the drop-down list.
    4. You can see Text Enhance/I Want This (or any suspicious extension) from the list of installed extensions; remove it by clicking on the ‘Trash’ icon.
    5. Please restart Google Chrome.

How to Remove Text Enhance in Mozilla Firefox
    1. Open Mozilla Firefox Internet browser.
    2. On top menu, go to Tools > Add-ons.
    3. Remove Text Enhance/I Want This (or any suspicious add-on) from the list of installed add-ons.
    4. Restart Mozilla Firefox.

NOTE: If you cannot find Text Enhance, look for names such as Text Serve, SavebyClick, Add Lyrics, Send to Kindle, Just Plug It, Zoomex, CouponDropDown, TorrentHandler, Privacy SafeGuard, StartNow, MyStart. The adware is linked to many add-ons and plug-ins.

Ahoy! We began experiencing the “fun” of Text Enhance about a week ago. We are eBay sellers and couldn’t do much of anything without the Text Enhance pop-ups blocking whatever we were working on. We read the instructions above and went to our Tools / Manage Add-Ons menus (we run Windows 7 and Internet Explorer). Text Enhance did not appear on the list of Add-Ons; however, there was a recent program added to the list at about the time we began experiencing the pop-ups. This was Shockwave from Adobe. We disabled this, and the problem went away. Just a thought…

Verwijder de geïnstalleerde ADOBE reader software en installeer deze opnieuw vanaf de officiele ADOBE website. Bij mij was het “ge-ïnfecteerde” probleem daarna over.

I followed Chris’ advice about Shockwave from Adobe — and it worked. Thank You.

Further to Chris……This morning i noticed that my wife had also “text enhance” on her computer. Shockwave is as add on, necessary to view video films. But if you disable shockwave once and enable it 10 seconds later than the
“text enhance” pop-ups are gone and you can again view the video’s as before. It takes a few seconds and the problem is solved.

After disabling and enabling Shockwave Text Enhance disappeared but came back again. So my best advice would still be remove shockwave and Adobe reader completely from the computer and install it again via the official Adobe website. On my computer it worked and Text Enhance is still gone.

I have the same problem, but the problem is that what you say above does not work and I do not have Text enhance in the plug ins let alone in my regit it does not seem to be on my system at all and yet it is showing up in highlighted adds. So the above does not work what and how do I remove this virus.

    @Christine,

There could be other names being used by Text Enhance. Look for any suspicious objects in Add/Remove program of Windows also in Add-ons and Extensions of your browser. So far, from what I have gathere, Text Enhance is related to the following:

    SelectionLinks
    SavebyClick
    Add Lyrics
    TextServe
    Onetab
    Sent to Kindle
    Zoomex
    Torrenthandler
    SafeGuard
    StartNow
    I Want This

Everything you say above to remove text enhancer does not work as even though i have it there I do not have them in manage Add-ons in either fire fox or IE 7 they are not under the following Text enhancer Codec-C, Codec-V, Better Links, JetMP3, Jp3, Facetheme, Giant Savings, I want this / iwantthis, Game Play Labs, Premiumplay Codec, Rewards Arcade, VUZE, BFlix, Dealply, Media Plugin, browser enhancements 1.0, Pando media enhancer, crossrider web apps, I-livid, bandicam, fantapper. I have cleaned out my registry, cache etc and still it appears when rebooting comp. No Mal-aware seem to find and remove Kapasky doesn’t find anything and yet i have adds everywhere when using the internet, so really searching Google and doing what most say remove from Add-ons and extensions does not work, so how and where is this on my computer as it is slowing it down and program’s are not working properly anymore. Any advice would be appreciated as this is very annoying and I need to get rid of this Text enhancer Mal-aware

If all else fails, there is a small link on the bottom of their page to opt out of these ads. I will post the link below:

I have looked for them as you said, however there is nothing anywhere in add/remove programs I have what I know I need. I am at a loss as I cant even save any work as it just takes me to the sus pages for advertising crap.

Oh joy of joys! Text enhance showed up on my computer about a week ago and it’s been driving me nuts. Like others here, I went through my add ons and found that the most recent was Adobe Shockwave. I’ve disabled it now and that annoying text enhance is gone. Shockwave will stay disabled for now and if I have a problem with videos I will uninstall and reinstall direct from Adobe in the future. For now, just enjoying my web-time without ads. Thanks for the info.

I could not find anything like text-enhance to uninstall even though at the bottom of the popups there was something like “by Text-Enhance”, but I found something called “Start Now” which seems to have gotten rid of the popups after I removed it. I first disabled it in the browser manage add-ins tool, then found it in the Control Panel “Add And Remove Programs” section and removed it. When I removed it from there it was also removed from the list of add-in in my browser. :-)

Look for a program called GetSavin. I had it, deleted it and the problem went away.

  16. John Munday says:

To fix the problem I had to remove all vestiges of Freecorder.

I have resolved also disabling shockwave.
