How to stop Lnksr.com pop-up

I hope someone in this forum can help me with my computer virus problem. I have been struggling to remove Lnksr.com pop-up from my browser for second day now. This is interfering with my web browsing. Lnksr.com will appear constantly and it redirects to another web page prompting to complete a survey. This hijacker acts as a doorway before I can open the requested web page.

My operating system is Windows 7 and I am using Internet Explorer and Google Chrome as my browser. The problem with Lnksr.com is it already affected both browsers. I was thinking of installing Firefox because some says it has better tools to block hijacker and redirect malware.

I have scanned my computer with tools like AVG, Superantispyware, and Spybot. Minimal threats were identified and I am sure it has nothing to do with Lnksr.com pop-up. I am now conducting manual removal but still hesitant because I am worried of deleting some vital files by mistake.

Any help for the quick removal of Lnksr.com virus from my computer is a big relief. I’ll be waiting for some answers.

Thanks,
Xcon

First of all, I suspect that a rootkit Trojan is affecting your computer. This Trojan may also be the cause for constant redirect of your browser to lnksr.com. To fix this thing, you need to scan the computer with Kaspersky anti-rootkit remover or popularly known as TDSSKiller. You can download the tool from this link: http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/tdsskiller

Next, there is a need to reset your browser to default settings. Resetting also helps remove add-ons and extensions that was relevant to browser hijacker. This method also makes sure that your browser will be as clean as it was first installed. It uninstalls unwanted data from your browser. Scan your computer with avast browser cleanup that you can download from this page:

You can also download an anti-rootkit program from malwarebytes.org/products/mbar/. It’s free, and it works!!
